The Gospel and the igloo. Notes of Anglican bishop Archibald Lang Fleming (1883-1953) on his ministry among the Eskimos of Canada:
""Because we had been so closely linked with the people in their days of strain and adversity, and because we had helped them to the limit of our own resources, we discovered a brotherhood of feeling and action which drew us together as nothing else could have done and made us feel an at-one-ness which we had not known before."
At the time of writing (1960s) eighty per cent of all the Eskimos in Canada are faithful Anglican Christians." - from "A history of Christian missions", by Stephen Neill
